Sen. Wayne Allard, R-Colo., chairman of the Subcommittee on Housing and Transportation, has announced a hearing on consolidation of the Department of Housing and Urban Development's homeless assistance programs.
"The federal government has fifty programs that deal with homelessness," Allard said. "It is time to consolidate programs and send the dollars directly to our local communities, which know best how to end homelessness."
