Warren Probes Trump Fed Nominee Kevin Warsh on Appearances in the Epstein Files
“As the Senate considers your nomination to serve as Chair of the Fed, it is essential the public fully understand the extent of any interactions or relationship you had with Jeffrey Epstein.”
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, sent a letter to President Trump’s Fed Nominee, Kevin Warsh, requesting answers following reports that Warsh’s name appears in materials released by the Department of Justice (DOJ) in response to the Epstein Files Transparency Act. These reports raise serious concerns regarding reporting about Kevin Warsh’s potential connections to Jeffrey Epstein, making it essential for the public to fully understand the scope of any interactions or nature of any relationship with Epstein prior to Warsh’s nomination hearing.
“As multiple sources have reported, your name appears to be included in these files. Specifically, you and your wife ‘appear in a list shared with Epstein titled ‘St. Barth’s Christmas 2010,’ among other guests who were planning to attend a party on the island.’” wrote the Senator.
“[Y]our name also appears to be included in an email exchange forwarded by a Lesley Groff to Jeffrey Epstein on September 16, 2010. The email, with the subject line ‘FW: lists from peggy’ includes a ‘list of people peggy invited to Wall Street.’ The list, under the header ‘LIWALLSTREET2,’ includes a reference to ‘Ms. Jane Lauder (Kevin Warsh),’” wrote the Senator.
The Senator concluded: “As the Senate considers your nomination to serve as Chair of the Fed, it is essential the public fully understand the extent of any interactions or relationship you had with Jeffrey Epstein.”
The Senator requested detailed information in response to their request no later than March 31, 2026.
Last month, Warren and Banking Committee Democrats called on Chairman Tim Scott to delay the nomination hearing of President Trump’s Fed Nominee, Kevin Warsh, until the pretextual investigations against Fed Chair Jerome Powell and Fed Governor Lisa Cook are closed.
