Warren Statement Ahead of Trump Meeting With Big Oil CEOs
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, issued the following statement ahead of President Donald Trump’s meeting with representatives of the largest U.S. oil companies and other domestic producers at the White House:
“The American people voted for lower costs, not for the U.S. military to attack Venezuela or to have their hard-earned money used to line the pockets of Big Oil. President Trump must not give these companies billions in handouts and stick American taxpayers with the bill. And these oil executives should commit that they will not seek or accept taxpayer subsidies or special favors from the White House.”
