Warren Statement on Trump Naming FHFA Director Bill Pulte Acting DNI

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, released the following statement after President Donald Trump appointed Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director Bill Pulte Acting Director of National Intelligence:

“Bill Pulte has spent the last year at the Federal Housing Finance Agency abusing his authority to attack the President’s perceived political enemies, prompting the congressional watchdog to investigate his handling of sensitive financial information. Today, President Trump is rewarding his lackey — who has no national security experience — with a perch atop our nation’s intelligence community. What could go wrong?”
