"The finest in a long line of great central bankers"
Sen. Phil Gramm, chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, today applauded President Clinton's nomination of Alan Greenspan to a fourth term as chairman of the Federal Reserve Board and announced that a full committee hearing on the nomination is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26.
"I believe Alan Greenspan has been the finest in a long line of great central bankers," Gramm said. "I have strongly supported his renomination, and I am delighted that the president has reached the same conclusion."
