Sen. Phil Gramm, chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, has announced the first in a series of full committee hearings on loan guarantees and rural television service.

The committee intends to report legislation dealing with loan guarantees by March 30, in keeping with an agreement that accompanied the Satellite Home Viewer Improvement Act, which was part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 1999.
