BANKING COMMITTEE TO MARK UP GREENSPAN NOMINATION,
HOLD HEARING ON LOAN GUARANTEES AND RURAL TELEVISION

Sen. Phil Gramm, chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, has announced that the full committee will mark up the nomination of Alan Greenspan to serve as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.

The committee will also hold the first in a series of full committee hearings on loan guarantees and rural television service. The committee will hear testimony from industry and government representatives.
