Sen. Rod Grams, R-Minn., chairman of the Subcommittee on Securities, has announced a hearing at which representatives of electronic communications networks (ECNs) and brokerage firms will discuss efforts to meet investors' needs in the financial marketplace of the future. The hearing continues the exploration of issues discussed at a full committee hearing Feb. 29 in New York City. Witnesses will discuss competition and the role of regulation in securities markets.
