COMMITTEE TO VOTE ON REDUCING SEC FEES
MARK-UP ALSO SET FOR FEDERAL RESERVE REPORTS, DOLLARIZATION
Sen. Phil Gramm, chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, has announced that the full committee will meet to mark up pending legislation.

WHERE: Room 538, Dirksen Building
WHAT: The Senate Banking Committee will mark up the following:
- S.2107, the Competitive Market Supervision Act, which will reduce securities transaction fees collected by the Securities and Exchange Commission and permit the SEC to pay its employees on the same scale as other financial regulators. Gramm intends to propose an amendment, providing for securities regulatory relief, as Title III of the bill.
- Legislation providing for semi-annual reports to Congress by the chairman of the Federal Reserve, replacing the lapsed reporting provisions of the 1978 Humphrey-Hawkins Act.
- Legislation, sponsored by Sen. Connie Mack, setting the framework for the United States to work with foreign countries seeking to adopt the U.S. dollar as their official currency.
- S.2266, the 2002 Winter Olympic Commemorative Coin Act.
- S.2453, awarding a Congressional Gold Medal to Pope John Paul II.
- S. 2459, awarding a Congressional Gold Medal to former President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy Reagan.
