HOUSING SUBCOMMITTEE TO EXAMINE
HUD’S PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

Sen. Wayne Allard, chairman of the Subcommittee on Housing and Transportation, has announced a hearing on performance management at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

"HUD has a long history of mismanagement and fraud," Allard said. "This hearing is to determine what progress has been made to reform the agency and implement results-oriented management. Congress needs to do more oversight of troubled agencies, and this hearing continues our committee’s regular oversight of HUD."

The hearing will address the following issues: HUD’s current and past management challenges, HUD’s use of strategic and performance planning to address those challenges, and the importance of results-oriented management that adheres to the principles of accountability and performance as envisioned by the Government Performance and Results Act.
