Sen. Wayne Allard, chairman of the Subcommittee on Housing and Transportation, has announced a hearing on the health of the Federal Housing Administration insurance fund at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
"It is always critical for Congress to monitor the health of FHA," Allard said. "This is important for both home buyers and taxpayers."
The purpose of the hearing is to examine the findings of a General Accounting Office report on the same topic. Copies of the GAO report will be available at the hearing. The Subcommittee on Housing and Transportation held a hearing on FHA reserves on September 12, 2000.
