Senator Paul S. Sarbanes, Chairman of the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, has invited the federal regulatory agencies to appear before the full Committee for an oversight hearing on the condition of the U.S. financial system. In addition, the Committee will vote on the nomination of Roger W. Ferguson, Jr. to be a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
