COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES HEARING
ON TWO NOMINEES
VOTES ALSO SCHEDULED ON
FIVE PENDING NOMINATIONS
Senator Paul S. Sarbanes, Chairman of the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, has announced that the full Committee will hold a hearing on a number of pending nominations to various agencies under the Committee's jurisdiction. The Committee will also vote on five pending nominations.
The hearing will be held:
THURSDAY, JULY 12, 2001
10:00 A.M.
538 DIRKSEN SENATE OFFICE BUILDING
The following nominations will be heard:
- Sheila C. Bair, of Kansas, to be Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Institutions; and
- Mark B. McClellan, of California, to be a Member of the Council of Economic Advisors
The Committee will also vote on the following nominations:
- Roger W. Ferguson, Jr., of Massachusetts, to be a Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System;
- Donald E. Powell, of Texas, to serve as the Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation;
- Angela Antonelli, of Virginia, to be Chief Financial Officer of the Department of Housing and Urban Development;
- Jennifer Dorn, of Nebraska, to be Federal Transit Administrator; and
- Donald Rosenfeld, of Maryland, to be President of the Government National Mortgage Association (GINNIE MAE)
