SUBCOMMITTEE ON HOUSING AND TRANSPORTATION TO
HOLD HEARING ON "TRANSIT SAFETY" IN THE
AFTERMATH OF SEPTEMBER 11 TERRORIST ATTACKS


Senator Jack Reed, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Housing and Transportation, has announced that the Subcommittee will hold a hearing on "Transit Safety in the Wake of September 11."

The hearing will examine protecting the nation's public transportation systems from terrorist attack and the measures implemented by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the transit agencies to address the threat of terrorism to the systems. Invitees include FTA Administrator Jennifer L. Dorn and representatives of the transit industry who will testify about measures already in place and recommendations to improve safety further.
