COMMITTEE TO MOVE ON
MONEY LAUNDERING LEGISLATION


Senator Paul S. Sarbanes, Chairman of the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, has announced that the full Committee will meet to mark-up "The International Money Laundering Abatement and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act of 2001." The Committee held a hearing on money laundering and the funding of terrorist activities on September 26 and Sarbanes, following the hearing, indicated he intended to move quickly to mark-up money laundering legislation.

The mark-up will be held:
