Senator Paul S. Sarbanes, the Chairman of the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, today announced that he would hold a full Committee hearing on the Housing and Community Development Needs for the upcoming Department of Housing and Urban Development's FY 2003 budget proposal.

Sarbanes will bring together a number of witnesses from outside the federal government to discuss their priorities and concerns as efforts get underway to develop the FY2003 budget proposals.

• Mr. Bart Harvey, Chairman and CEO, The Enterprise Foundation;

• Ms. Barbara Sard, Director of Housing Policy, The Center for Budget and Policy Priorities; and
• The Honorable Raymond Skinner, Secretary of Housing and Community Development, State of Maryland.
