OVERSIGHT HEARING ON ACCOUNTING AND
INVESTOR PROTECTION ISSUES

FORMER CHAIRMEN OF THE SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION TO TESTIFY


Senator Paul S. Sarbanes, the Chairman of the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, has invited 5 former Chairmen of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to testify before the full Committee on accounting and investor protection issues surrounding the problems with Enron Corporation and other public companies.

The hearing is scheduled for:

The former SEC Chairmen scheduled to appear before the Committee are:

  • Mr. Roderick M. Hills (1975-77);

  • Mr. Arthur Levitt, Jr. (1993-2000).
