BANKING COMMITTEE TO
HEAR FROM ACCOUNTING INDUSTRY,
OTHER EXPERTS, ON ACCOUNTING ISSUES
IN WAKE OF ENRON CORP. COLLAPSE
Senator Paul S. Sarbanes, the Chairman of the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, announced that the full Committee will meet to hear from representatives of the accounting industry and other experts in the wake of the collapse of Enron Corp. and other high-profile business failures in recent years.
The Committee will continue its focus on the oversight of the accounting profession, and will include examination of audit quality and independence, and the formulation of accounting principles.
The hearing will be held:
