SARBANES ANNOUNCES BANKING COMMITTEE HEARING
ON ACCOUNTING AND INVESTOR PROTECTION ISSUES RAISED
BY ENRON AND OTHER PUBLIC COMPANIES
Senator Paul S. Sarbanes (D-MD), the Chairman of the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, announced that the full Committee will continue its oversight hearings on accounting and investor protection issues following the collapse of Enron Corp. by hearing from representatives from consumer, labor and investor interest organizations.
The hearing will be held:

Scheduled to testify are:
- The Honorable Howard M. Metzenbaum, Chairman, Consumer Federation of America, and former U.S. Senator;

- Mr. Thomas A. Bowman, President and CEO, Association for Investment Management and Research.
