BANKING COMMITTEE APPROVES NOMINATIONS
Senator Paul S. Sarbanes (D-MD), Chairman of the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, announced that the Committee today has unanimously approved and sent to the full Senate the following nominations:
- Mr. Alberto Faustino Trevino, of California, to be Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for Policy Development and Research;
- Mr. Armando J. Bucelo, Jr., of Florida, to be a Director of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation;
- Ms. Carolyn Y. Peoples, of Maryland, to be Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity;
- Ms. Deborah Doyle McWhinney, of California, to be a Director of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation;
- Mr. John M. Reich, of Virginia, to be Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
- Mr. Rafael Cuellar, of New Jersey, to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the National Consumer Cooperative Bank;
- Mr. Michael Scott, of North Carolina, to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the National Consumer Cooperative Bank; and
- Mr. Philip Merrill, of Maryland, to be President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States
