Sen. Rod Grams, chairman of the Subcommittee on Securities, has announced that on Wednesday, May 26, the subcommittee will hold a hearing on the private sector's voluntary initiative to provide more transparency in the corporate bond market. The hearing will include a demonstration of Corporate Trades 1, the program being developed by the Bond Market Association to provide more information about bond transactions.
"There is a consensus that more timely information on corporate bond prices will benefit the consumer," Grams said. "The hearing will provide the subcommittee with an update on the most immediate source of such information, the voluntary market-driven initiative led by the Bond Market Association."
