GRAMM RINGS OPENING BELL
AT NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE

In his first trip to Wall Street since becoming chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, Senator Phil Gramm of Texas rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 21.

"I am very happy to be here in this temple of capitalism," Gramm said. "The New York Stock Exchange is a symbol of the greatest economy in the world."
