SUBCOMMITTEES TO HEAR FROM ECONOMISTS
ON DOLLARIZATION IN LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES

The Subcommittee on Economic Policy and the Subcommittee on International Trade and Finance have scheduled a joint hearing on dollarization in Latin American countries. Dollarization occurs when a country eliminates its own currency and adopts the U.S. dollar. The hearing will focus on testimony from Latin American economic experts discussing the potential effects, implications and benefits of dollarization.
