The Chairman invites Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee Members and Staff to join a virtual briefing and listening session with borrowers from across the country to hear about their experiences with student loan debt, its impact on their lives, and, overall, how student debt undermines the dignity of work. The panel will include borrowers who have taken out federal and/or private loans, borrowers who have applied for loan forgiveness, and borrowers who have been serviced by different student loan servicing companies.

The virtual briefing will take place at 10:00AM on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Committee Members and Staff may RSVP for a link to the Webex event, or watch the stream on the Committee website.

All hearings are webcast live and will not be available until the hearing starts. Individuals with disabilities who require an auxiliary aid or service, including closed captioning service for webcast hearings, should contact the committee clerk at 202-224-7391 at least three business days in advance of the hearing date.
