COMMITTEE ON BANKING, HOUSING, AND URBAN AFFAIRS will meet in EXECUTIVE SESSION to consider the nominations of Mr. Jerome H. Powell, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; Dr. Jeremy C. Stein, of Massachusetts, to be a Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; Mr. Jeremiah O. Norton, of Virginia, to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; Dr. Richard B. Berner, of Massachusetts, to be Director, Office of Financial Research, U.S. Department of the Treasury (New Position); and Ms. Christy L. Romero, of Virginia, to be Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program. Following the EXECUTIVE SESSION, the Committee will meet in OPEN SESSION to conduct a hearing entitled “Developing the Framework for Safe and Efficient Mobile Payments.” The witnesses will be: Ms. Sandra F. Braunstein, Director, Division of Consumer and Community Affairs, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; and Mr. Kenneth C. Montgomery, First Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
