COMMITTEE ON BANKING, HOUSING, AND URBAN AFFAIRS SUBCOMMITTEE ON FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS AND CONSUMER PROTECTION will meet in OPEN SESSION to conduct a hearing entitled “Is Simpler Better? Limiting Federal Support for Financial Institutions.” The witnesses on Panel I will be: The Honorable Paul A. Volcker, former Chairman, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; and The Honorable Thomas M. Hoenig, Member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The witnesses on Panel II will be: Mr. Tom Frost, Chairman Emeritus, Frost National Bank, San Antonio, Texas; and Mr. Wallace C. Turbeville, Senior Fellow, Demos. Additional witnesses may be added at a later date.
