THE COMMITTEE ON BANKING, HOUSING, AND URBAN AFFAIRS will meet REMOTELY to conduct a hearing entitled, “The Student Debt Burden and Its Impact on Racial Justice, Borrowers, & The Economy.”  The witnesses on Panel I will be:  The Honorable Ayanna Pressley, Representative (MA-7), United States House of Representatives; and The Honorable Byron Donalds, Representative (FL-19), United States House of Representatives. The witnesses on Panel II will be: The Honorable Maura Healey, Attorney General, State of Massachusetts; Ms. Darimir Perez, Student Loan Borrower; Mr. James H. Steeley, President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency; Mr. John F. Remondi, President and CEO of Navient; Dr. Beth Akers, Resident Scholar, American Enterprise Institute; Dr. Constantine Yannelis, Assistant Professor of Finance, Booth School of Business, University of Chicago; Mr. Alexander Holt Policy Analyst, Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget; Mr. Adam Looney, Executive Director, Marriner S. Eccles Institute, University of Utah; and Dr. Dominique Baker, Assistant Professor of Education Policy, Southern Methodist University.
