Banking Committee Advances Fudge, Rouse Nominations

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) – in his first markup as Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs – advanced two historic nominations: The Honorable Marcia Fudge to be Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and The Honorable Cecilia Rouse to be Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers. Ms. Fudge was advanced by a vote of 17-7, and Dr. Rouse was advanced by a vote of 24-0:

“These historic nominees are ready to defeat the coronavirus, to prevent a tidal wave of evictions, and turn around our economy,” said Brown. “I will work hand in hand with Secretary Fudge and Dr. Rouse to build a just economy and housing system that truly works for all.”
