Brown Statement on Sanctions Against Russia

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, released the following statement regarding sanctions against Russia, following Alexei Navalny’s death in Russian custody and the second anniversary of Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

“As we approach the second anniversary of Putin’s brutal, criminal war, we cannot waiver in our commitment to our democratic ally, Ukraine. Putin believes he can murder opponents and critics with impunity. We must prove him wrong. The United States and the West must continue to hold the lawless Russian regime accountable. We must use every tool to protect U.S. national security and stand with our allies.”
