Chairman Scott Backs Tough Sanctions on Russia

Washington, D.C. – Today, Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott (R-S.C.) issued the following statement expressing support for tough sanctions on Russia.

“I strongly support imposing tough, targeted sanctions on Russia to weaken Putin’s war machine and strengthen America’s hand at the negotiating table. Senators Graham and Blumenthal have done important bipartisan work on this effort, and I look forward to working with them and House and Senate leadership to get a bill to President Trump’s desk. As Chairman of the Banking Committee, I’m committed to advancing strong common sense sanctions that put pressure on the Kremlin and give President Trump maximum leverage to secure peace,” said Chairman Scott.
