SENATE BANKING COMMITTEE CONFIRMS TEN NOMINEES

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, today announced that the Committee confirmed the nominations of three individuals to serve on the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as several other nominees for positions within the Administration.  The Banking Committee has approved a total of 24 nominees, including those confirmed today, during the 110th Congress.  The following ten nominees passed the Committee unanimously, and will now be considered by the full Senate:

Nominee to be Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration
Sheila McNamara Greenwood
Nominee to be Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations
Susan D. Peppler
Nominee to be Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for Community Planning and Development
Joseph J. Murin
Nominee to be President of the Government National Mortgage Association
Luis Aguilar
Nominee to be a Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission
Troy A. Paredes
Nominee to be a Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission
Elisse Walter
Nominee to be a Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission
Donald B. Marron
Nominee to be a Member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors
Michael E. Fryzel
Nominee to be a Member of the National Credit Union Administration Board of Directors
