Senator Warren Statement on May 2025 CPI
Washington, D.C. – United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee released the following statement:
“The President should be doing everything he can to lower costs. Instead his across-the-board 10% tariffs are still in place and the threat of his reciprocal tariffs looms over businesses and consumers. Last week’s jobs data showed a softening labor market. Today’s inflation data shows food and electricity prices are up. On top of that, President Trump and Congressional Republicans are ramming through a bill that will raise costs for Americans in order to give giant tax breaks to billionaires and billionaire corporations.”
