Senator Warren Statement on May 2026 PCE

Washington, D.C. – United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee released the following statement:

“The inflation that Donald Trump says he loves keeps on getting worse. Today’s data shows annual inflation has reached its highest point in more than three years – nearly double what it was in April 2025, before Trump announced his sweeping tariffs. Since then, Trump’s failed agenda has only driven prices higher. In May, families paid more for health care, food, gas, and housing. Meanwhile, Trump refuses to sign a bipartisan bill that would lower housing costs. Trump promised to lower costs on ‘Day One’, but he’s made clear he just doesn’t care.”
